Synagogue Shooting

A federal judge in San Diego entered a not guilty plea Tuesday on behalf of John T. Earnest, 19, who is accused of shooting and killing a woman and wounding several others at a synagogue in April and now faces federal hate crime, arson and other charges.

SAN DIEGO – A federal judge in San Diego entered a not guilty plea Tuesday on behalf of John T. Earnest, 19, who is accused of shooting and killing a woman and wounding several others at a synagogue in April and now faces federal hate crime, arson and other charges.

If convicted, Earnest could face the death penalty. A trial setting hearing is scheduled for June 24.
