WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Supreme Court has turned down the appeal of a conservative group that wants to run ads for its anti-Hillary Clinton movie without complying with campaign finance laws. The justices rejected the case for lack of juridiction, leaving intact a D.C. Circuit ruling that Citizens United must attach a disclaimer and disclose its donors in order to promote the 90-minute documentary "Hillary: The Movie."
A three-judge panel said the movie was produced solely "to inform the electorate that Senator Clinton is unfit for office, that the United States would be a dangerous place in a President Hillary Clinton world, and that viewers should vote against her."
The group claims the issue is important no matter who becomes the Democratic presidential nominee, the Associated Press reports, because the group plans to release a movie critical of Sen. Barack Obama if he wins the nomination.
