Sunnyside eviction crisis

OLYMPIA — The Washington Supreme Court said the lower court should not have sided with the city of Sunnyside in the state attorney general’s challenge against the city’s crime-free rental housing program, which allegedly permits evictions without due process and apparently targets Latino tenants, women-headed households and families with minors. The state’s top attorney has authority to bring the action because these are matters of public concern.
