Sunglasses Could Have Prevented Death,|Woman’s Estate Says In Suing Optometrist

WICHITA (CN) - An 87-year-old woman's estate sued an optometrist for wrongful death, claiming his failure to provide her with sunglasses after an eye exam that dilated her pupils caused her to fall upon leaving his building, or in the parking lot, breaking her ankle and leading to her death 5 months later.

The heirs of Mildred Klaasen sued Dr. Robert C. Nelson and the Wichita Family Vision Clinic, in Sedgwick County Court. Plaintiffs are represented by Elizabeth Dudley with Hutton & Hutton.
