Suit over fiery mover flames out

NEW ORLEANS — Home Depot prevailed over a Louisiana couple’s federal lawsuit claiming they were sold a defective mower for their lawn care business. The riding lawnmower allegedly caught fire, prompting the wife to jump off the machine; she was injured during the fall. The court ruled against them, though, as they used the lawn mower for almost three years before it caught fire. “Such prolonged and consistent use without issue” cuts against the argument that the mower was “absolutely useless.”
