Suge Knight Arrested|in Hit and Run Death

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Death Row Records founder Suge Knight was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder: a hit and run during a film shoot that killed a man and injured another, the Los Angles County Sheriff's Department said.

The Sheriff's Department said that Marion Knight, 49, argued Thursday afternoon with men who were working on a movie set in a restaurant parking lot in Compton. Knight allegedly put his truck in reverse, backed over two men, and drove away.

The Sheriff's Department sent out an alert, and Knight showed up with an attorney at a sheriff's substation in West Hollywood early this morning.

He is being held under $2 million bond.

Knight's attorney, James Blatt, told The Associated Press that Knight was trying to escape from an assault by two men.

It's not Knight's first brush with the law. He has been convicted of robbery and assault, and served 4 years in prison for violating probation in a 1996 fight at a Las Vegas hotel. He was shot last summer in a Los Angeles nightclub.
