Stylists Sue Queen Latifah for $1 Million

MANHATTAN (CN) - A "celebrity cosmetology consultant" claims Queen Latifah owes her $700,000, and a "fashion stylist and consultant" claims Latifah owes her $300,000. Roxanna Floyd, who demands $700,000, cites her work for Latifah's Cover Girl account. Susan Moses cites her work on the "Curvations" line of "intimate wear." Queen Latifah's other name is Dana Owens.

The plaintiffs filed separate federal complaints.

Floyd says she worked for Latifah for more than 10 years, and claims she "was instrumental in developing, producing, and marketing defendant's 'Queen Collection' make-up line for Cover Girl." She says she "was never rendered compensation by defendants for her services performed on the CoverGirl line." She demands $700,000 for breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

Moses, in her claim, says she was Owens' "key stylist and developer of the Curvations merchandise". She says she worked for 3 years on the Curvations account. Curvations is described as "an intimate wear and apparel line owned by Vanity Fair Intimates," which hired Owens as its "celebrity spokesperson and model."

Moses claims that Owens "continually promised to compensate plaintiff for her work on the Curvations line in an amount exceeding $150,000. Despite such demands and assurances as well as expressions of remorse for having 'stiffed' plaintiff and failed to pay her, defendants have continues to completely fail to pay plaintiff for her services and a large portion of her expenses relating to Curvations."

Moses demands $300,000 for breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

Both plaintiffs also sued Queen Latifah Inc. Both are represented by Carmen Giordano.
