Students’ Defamation Suit

The Seventh Circuit upheld the dismissal of a defamation suit brought against Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Debra Haaland by 10 minors from Covington Catholic High School who were involved in an encounter with a Native American man on the National Mall. The students’ claims were barred by sovereign immunity.

CINCINNATI — The Seventh Circuit upheld the dismissal of a defamation suit brought against Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Debra Haaland by 10 minors from Covington Catholic High School who were involved in an encounter with a Native American man on the National Mall. The students’ claims were barred by sovereign immunity.
