Student Sues In E. Coli Poisonings

ANN ARBOR (CN) - A pre-med student says she is one of 38 Michigan residents poisoned by e. coli-contaminated lettuce. Lindsey Jennings says she was hospitalized for 10 days in September, as were 8 other Michigan State students. She sued Aunt Mid Produce Co., which allegedly distributed the lettuce.

Aunt Mid is based in West Lafayette, Mich.

Jennings says she was poisoned with the O157:H7 strain of e. coli. She is represented in Washtenaw County Court by Michael Hellman of Trenton, Mich.
