Student Says School Over-Reacted

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Antelope Valley Union High School District unconstitutionally suspended a student at Quartz Hill High School for wearing a "Free Rocky" T-shirt, the student, Austin Counts, claims in Superior Court. "Rocky" is a security guard who was accused of battering defendant Quartz Hill Principal Mark Bryant. Counts claims he wore his T-shirt peacefully the day he was suspended, and that fellow students did not start chanting, "Free Rocky!" until defendant Assistant Principal Richard Robles demanded that he remove it.
