KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CN) - A Missouri appeals court refused to block a law that imposes tougher regulations on the state's adult-oriented businesses. As of Aug. 28, strip clubs and adult video stores must close at midnight and full nudity and video-viewing booths are not allowed behind closed doors.
The Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals denied adult businesses' request to block enforcement of the law. A Cole County Circuit judge denied the same request on Aug. 27.
The law will remain in effect while the adult business group continues to challenge it in Cole County Circuit Court.
