LOS ANGELES – A federal judge in California conditionally certified a class of agricultural workers recruited from Mexico to work in a produce company’s strawberry fields. The workers claim they were denied meal and rest breaks, required to pay a supervisor a fee and were not reimbursed for travel expenses.
The class is conditionally certified “for the purposes of sending notice to potential class members.”
