PARIS — Five people were arrested Tuesday in France in connection to the Dec. 11, 2018, attack on a Christmas market in Strasbourg, an unnamed judicial official said.
Reports in French media indicate that the detained individuals are suspected of helping gunman Cherif Chekatt get his weapon.
Chekatt, who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, died in a shootout with police two days after the Christmas market rampage.
