Stop Hillary PAC Demands Action From FEC

WASHINGTON (CN) - A Republican political action committee sued the Federal Election Commission, claiming it failed to stop three Hillary Clinton PACs from sharing an email list.

The Stop Hillary PAC sued the FEC on Dec. 11 in Federal Court, claiming the agency ignored an administrative complaint accusing Clinton of authorizing the transfer of a contact list.

Stop Hillary claims that Clinton violated election laws by authorizing the Hillary Clinton for President PAC (from her 2008 presidential bid) and the Friends of Hillary PAC (for her U.S. Senate campaign) to share a contact list with the Ready for Hillary PAC, for use for her presumed 2016 presidential run.

"Hillary Clinton's authorization of the use of the list by Ready for Hillary PAC is openly and notoriously encouraging and supporting the activity of Ready for Hillary PAC which seeks the nomination and election of Hillary Rodham Clinton as president in 2016," the complaint states.

"In doing so, Hillary Clinton has authorized Ready for Hillary PAC to perform the campaign activity on Hillary Rodham Clinton's behalf."

Stop Hillary claims Clinton has not registered as a candidate under the Federal Election Campaign Act, "nor has she followed FEC procedures to disavow any unauthorized campaign efforts on her behalf pursuant to 11 C.F.R. § 100.3(a)(2)."

Stop Hillary also claims that Ready for Hillary PAC has not registered as an authorized committee of a candidate, and is collecting money "in vastly excessive amounts and from wholly impermissible sources."

The group also accuses Ready for Hillary of failing to use disclaimers for its solicitations and attempting to evade contribution limits and requirements.

Stop Hillary says it aired its grievance in January in an administrative with the FEC, but the agency ignored it.

"The FEC's unreasonable delay in investigating Hillary Clinton and Ready for Hillary PAC, which is facially contrary to statue, has caused Stop Hillary Political competitor injury, information injury, and association injury based on the competitive and informational injuries of its supports," the PAC says.

Stop Hillary wants a court order forcing the FEC to act on its complaint within 30 days.

It is represented by Dan Backer of Alexandria, Va.
