Stock Exchange Merger

The European Commission on Wednesday blocked the proposed merger of the London Stock Exchange Group and Deutsche Borse, finding that combining Europe’s two largest stock exchanges would create “a de facto monopoly in the markets for clearing fixed-income instruments.”
