Statutory Rape

A woman who says she was statutorily raped by a city of Tuskegee police officer when she was between the ages 14 and 17 years old may pursue her civil rights claims against the city, a federal court in Alabama ruled.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A woman who says she was statutorily raped by a city of Tuskegee police officer when she was between the ages 14 and 17 years old may pursue her civil rights claims against the city, a federal court in Alabama ruled.

The court dismissed the woman’s assault and battery, false-arrest, and negligent-hiring claims against the city.
