LAS VEGAS (CN) - The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners seeks suspension of the doctors who ran an endoscopy clinic accused of reusing syringes and potentially exposing 40,000 patients to HIV.
The board is asking for the suspension of the licenses of Drs. Dipak Kantalil Desai and Eladio Santana Carrera, part owners of the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada. Its doctors are accused of reusing syringes, potentially exposing 40,000 patients to HIV, hepatitis and other diseases. The complaints in Clark County Court claim at least three of each doctors' patients contracted hepatitis C after the doctors performed "procedures" on them.
