State Song Isn’t Free, Songwriters’ Heirs Say

NASHVILLE (CN) - Heirs of the authors of the Tennessee state song sued A&E Television Networks for broadcasting the University of Tennessee marching band playing a snatch of "Rocky Top" in the show "City Confidential." The Bryant family says the UT has permission to play the song in public, but not to videotape it or allow others to synchronize it with video.

House of Bryant Publications is represented in Federal Court by Richard Busch with King & Ballow.
