State Says Fund Raiser Had Sticky Fingers

CHICAGO (CN) - The State of Illinois claims Public Awareness Inc. and its manager David Smith kept $450,000 of the $550,000 they claimed to be raising for the Illinois Police Patrolman's Association. Attorney General Lisa Madigan sued Smith and PAI in Cook County Court.
