State Of Ohio Stands Up For Kids

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CN) - Children have a friend in the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. The state sued a Columbus condominium complex that prohibits kids from riding their bikes, scooters or skateboards on sidewalks, walking bikes and skateboards "between vehicles in the parking lot," and throwing baseballs or footballs "in a manner that makes it reasonably possible the object might hit a vehicle, resident, or building."

Cooperwoods Condominiums, a 72-unit complex, actually enforces these rules, the Commission says. It sued on behalf of kids, parents and grandparents, alleging discrimination in Franklin County Court.
