State Farm Cheats, Homeowners Say

VENTURA, Calif. (CN) - State Farm defrauded homeowners by grossly underestimating the value of their house and basing their premiums on this depressed value, shifting the risk to the customers, a married couple says. They say State Farm also reduced their coverage without informing them until after their home burned.

George and Marlo Thompson demand punitive damages for fraudulent concealment in Ventura County Court. They are represented by Brian Heffernan with Engstrom Lipscomb.
