State Demands Damages For Fiery Wreck

OAKLAND, CALIF. (CN) - The State of California demands punitive damages from the trucking company whose employee overturned a tanker truck filled with 8,600 gallons of gasoline that caught fire and wreaked havoc on the ramp connecting Interstate 80 and I-580.

California demands punitive damages from Sabek Transportation Co., in Alameda County Court.

It also sues Sabek's driver, James Mosqueda, and Valero Refining Co., for negligence in untrahazardous activities.

The fiery wreck happened on April 24, 2007, in Alameda County.
