Starbucks struggle

SEATTLE — A federal court in Washington partially declined to dismiss stockholders’ class action alleging Starbucks, its former CEO and its CFO hid from investors that store traffic in the U.S. and China was declining, and instead claimed store traffic was strong. They adequately pleaded that Starbucks and the executives made material misrepresentations or omissions regarding a form statement and certain earnings call statements, as a Bloomberg article identified issues such as workers struggling to keep up with drink orders across various ordering platforms and worker frustration with changes in store conditions.
