Starbucks Demands Its Own Password

SEATTLE (CN) - Starbucks demands that ADT Security give it the password to its own security system. It claims ADT installed 2,100 security systems under misrepresentations - with proprietary software that prevents Starbucks from turning over monitoring duties to another company, which it wants to do.

Starbucks says the 2,100 systems will cost more than $900 apiece to replace. And it claims ADT installed them under misrepresentations. It demands an order compelling ADT to deliver the password it needs to have a new security company monitor the system, plus damages for fraud and breach of contract, and costs.

Starbucks is represented in Federal by James Williams with Perkins Coie.
