Stanford Ponzi Scheme Puts At Risk Mexican Orphan Health Program, Says Suit

HOUSTON (CN) - A trustee of a foundation that provides dental care to "thousands of poor (people) and hundreds of orphanages" in Mexico and Central America says the foundation could go under because the Stanford Group's alleged Ponzi scheme may have lost his entire $700,000 trust.

Dr. Johan Dahler, a retired oral surgeon and trustee of the Rocky Mountain Trust, sued the Stanford Group in Harris County Court. He says he invested all of the foundations assets in CDs with the Antigua-based Stanford International Bank, which has frozen all redemptions and withdrawals.

Dahler is represented by Patrick Zummo.
