Stabber’s pregnancy defense fails

HOUSTON — A Texas appellate court ruled that a woman was properly convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she stabbed someone over whether a parking lot was free to use. She says the jury should have been instructed on “defense of a third person,” as she was pregnant at the time of the incident and allegedly acted in defense of her unborn child. But she never requested this instruction, so the trial court did not err in not issuing it.
