St. Paul Bends Over For GOP, Protesters Say

MINNEAPOLIS (CN) - Peace groups say the City of St. Paul is unconstitutionally denying them the right to stage a "meaningful" protest on the first day of the Republican Convention, Sept. 1. Plaintiffs say the city approved a permit for a demonstration on any date other than Sept. 1, and refuses to specify an approved route for the march, which plaintiffs expect will be concocted to keep them away from the Republican Convention, and the TV cameras there.
