St. Louis Rams Win One – in Court

ST. LOUIS (CN) - A federal jury rejected an age discrimination complaint against the NFL's St. Louis Rams.

Lory Fabian sued the Rams and associated companies in 2012 in Federal Court. Fabian, who was 56 at the time, claimed she was one of a series of older employees who were forced out in favor of younger, inexpensive replacements.

Rams attorney Bradley Winters successfully argued that Fabian was simply not rehired when her contract expired in 2011.

Winters told jurors that she was let go due to performance issues that included the way she dealt with co-workers, starting feuds and refusing to work with one employee, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Winters also said that the Rams loaned Fabian $20,000 interest free and allowed her to design her dream job.

A judge tossed out a sexual harassment claim before trial.
