LEESBURG, Va. (CN) - A sports memorabilia dealer bounced $55,000 in checks for an autograph session with Alexander Ovechkin and five other members of the Washington Capitals hockey team, the promoter claims in Loudoun County Court.
Plaintiff HockeyInk claims PSGameGear Sports Memorabilia hired it to arrange the appearances by Ovechkin, Mike Green, Alexander Semin, Semyon Varlamov, Jose Theodore and Nicklas Backstrom.
HockeyInk, which describes itself as a "full service hockey autograph company," billed PSGameGear for $75,000, but says it was paid with bad checks and checks with stop-payment orders on them.
SCB demands $55,000. It is represented by Christopher Jones with Whiteford Taylor of Falls Church, Va.
