Sport Fishers Have Tuna|Bag Limits Off Cali Coast

WASHINGTON (CN) – To keep California’s tuna from being overfished, the Commerce Department’s National Marine Fisheries Service has issued a regulation telling those who fish for recreation that there is a limit on how many tuna they may keep. There is more albacore to go around off the Northern coast of California than off the Southern coast. So, the service will allow a daily bag limit of 25 albacore north of Point Conception, but only 10 south of the point, starting Nov. 14. The limit for bluefin caught anywhere along the coast is 10. Point Conception is at California‘s elbow, where an East/West coastline abruptly turns North/South at Santa Barbara County. Click here for details and more new regulations.
