Spitzer Escort Drops Suit Against ‘Girls Gone Wild’

(CN) - Ashley Dupre, the woman the Village Voice referred to as "the most famous hooker in America," has voluntarily dropped her $10 million lawsuit against the producer of the "Girls Gone Wild" video series.

Dupre earned notoriety as former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's high-priced call girl in a widely publicized sex scandal. Spitzer resigned after news broke of his involvement in the Emporers Club VIP prostitution ring that employed Dupre.

Dupre accused "Girls Gone Wild" producer Joe Francis and his staff of plying her with alcohol and inducing her to expose her breasts on camera during her spring break at Miami Beach in 2003.

She said the producers set up Web sites exploiting her name and the footage they filmed in Florida.

Dupre was only 17 when she signed a contract consenting to appear in the "Girls Gone Wild" video.

Francis said in a statement Friday that "the truth invariably comes out, as I knew it would in this case. I am happy to, once again, be completely vindicated."
