Speeding on Snap

CHARLESTON, S.C. — A federal court in South Carolina denied Snapchat’s efforts to dismiss a negligence complaint for lack of jurisdiction. The complaint centers on the social media app’s speedometer filter, which allegedly encourages drivers to go fast; a crash victim’s personal representatives say the filter is to blame for the fatal car crash. The representatives may pursue jurisdictional discovery.
