Sony & EMI Squabble Over Exec

MANHATTAN (CN) - Sony Music Entertainment sued EMI Music and its "high ranking executive" Ronn Werre, claiming Werre used Sony as a "stalking horse" to get a better contract with EMI. Sony claims Werre agreed to become president of Sony's music group for $1 million a year, so it fired the person who held that job; then Werre stayed at EMI with a new "more lucrative contract."

Sony accuses Werre of breach of contract and fraud, and EMI of interference. Sony is represented by Benjamin Rosenberg in New York County Court.
