Son Might Be Liable for Death of Father’s Horse

SALEM, Ore. (CN) - A son might be liable for the death of his father's horse after his dog chased the horse into a steel fence, causing fatal head injuries, the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled.

Judge Schuman said the defendant's dog undisputedly rushed the horse and barked, causing the frightened horse to hit the fence. The resulting head injuries were so severe that the horse had to be euthanized.
