SoCal Gang Banger Gets|Sentenced to 13 Years

LOS ANGELES (CN) – A Hollywood man was sentenced Monday to 160 months in prison for a racketeering conspiracy in which he stole financial information – and $3.5 million – from elderly people’s bank accounts.
Andranik Aloyan, 41, also was ordered to pay $3.5 million in restitution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said after he was sentenced.
A federal jury in February convicted Aloyan guilty of racketeering conspiracy, attempted bank fraud, access device fraud, four counts of aggravated identity theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Prosecutors called Aloyan an “associate” of an Armenian Power gang. He was one of 90 people charged three years ago in two federal indictments. Eighty-five of them have been convicted or have pleaded guilty, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
