KAMPALA, Uganda — In a $3.5 million bust – one of the largest seizures of wildlife contraband in Uganda – authorities announced the interception Thursday of thousands of pangolin scales and 750 pieces of ivory being smuggled from South Sudan.
The contraband had been concealed inside pieces of timber carried by three freight containers, and two Vietnamese nationals were taken into custody.
