Slipped Pin Causes Grievous Tumble

NORFOLK, Va. (CN) - A double amputee claims a metal pin in his prosthetic leg came loose as he descended a staircase, and he fell to the bottom, breaking a hip, a rib, an arm and a shoulder blade, and necessitating further amputation of one of his legs.

Kennie Richards sued Alps South and the Hanger Orthopedic Group in City Court.

He seeks punitive damages for strict liability, negligence, breach of warranty and pain and suffering.

He is represented by Deborah Waters of Smithfield, Va.
