Six Wounded, Shooter|Dead in Houston

HOUSTON (CN) — A Houston attorney opened fire at a Houston strip mall Monday morning, shooting six people before he was fatally shot by police.

The first report of gunfire came around 6:30 a.m., Houston Police Chief Martha Montalvo said at a news conference. Police shot and killed the man after he shot at them when they arrived on the scene.

The suspected gunman was an attorney and the Houston Police Department announced on twitter that it is investigating whether workplace issues led to the shooting.

The six victims were taken to Houston hospitals and one is in critical condition.

Three others suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene and released, Houston's ABC affiliate KTRK reported.

Police dispatched a bomb squad that found several weapons in a black Porsche parked at a nearby condominium complex where the alleged shooter lived.

The Porsche is registered to Houston attorney Nathan DeSai, KTRK reported.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
