PHOENIX (CN) - An Arizona aircraft parts maker who supplied parts for F-15 fighters was sentenced Monday to six months in federal prison for fraud and obstruction of justice.
Malcolm Robert Markson, 45, of Peoria, Ariz., is the former owner of Phoenix-based Action Machine. He got federal contracts to make wing pins for F-15 fighters, whose specifications included that they be made from specially hardened steel and to subject them to a particular safety inspection process.
He supplied 212 wing pins and certified that they met the specifications, but some of the certifications were false, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Monday.
During investigation, Markson forged a document claiming that the third party company had done the safety testing, prosecutors said.
No one was injured.
