Should Products Pay for 5.5% of Postal Costs?

WASHINGTON (CN) – The Postal Regulatory Commission is reviewing whether competitive products provide the appropriate minimum contribution to the U.S. Postal Service’s institutional costs, and seeks comments.      The Postal Service has indicated that in 2011, competitive products contributed 7.84 percent of the Postal Service’s institutional costs. The required percentage for the year was 5.5 percent. The PRC seeks comments on the reasonableness of requiring a 5.5 percent contribution.     Comments are due by March 5.     Click the document icon for this regulation and others.
