Shooting Victim Sues Tacoma Mall

TACOMA (CN) - A worker who was paralyzed from being shot at the Tacoma Mall says the building owners failed to provide adequate security. Brendan McKown was one of seven people shot by Dominick Maldonado in November 2005. Maldonado was convicted of attempted murder, assault and kidnapping.

McKown worked at Excalibur Cutlery Store. He claims that Simon Property Group and IPC International failed to hire enough security guards and did not have proper security cameras.

He demands damages for breach of contract, negligence and failure to protect. He is represented in Pierce County Court by Rodney Ray with Margullis Luedtke & Ray.
