Sheriff’s Ex Says Cops Keep Assaulting Her

BALTIMORE (CN) - A woman claims two Maryland state troopers beat her and sprayed her with Mace while handcuffed, and that one "further threatened and intimidated her" by telling her he was "good friends," with her ex-husband, Harford County Sheriff John Brown. She claims she has "a history of being assaulted by police officers who were 'friends' of her ex-husband."

Teresa Rice sued the State Of Maryland and Troopers Justin Gross and Sean Harris in Federal Court.

"Plaintiff Rice previously filed suit in the Circuit Court of Harford County, Case

No. 12-C-07-1275, in a similar case in which the police officer 'friends' of her ex-husband assaulted her," according to the complaint.

She demands punitive damages for assault and battery, malicious prosecution, false arrest, false imprisonment, conspiracy and other charges. She is represented by Joshua Ambush.
