Shea Homes Ran Wild, California Says

MARTINEZ, CALIF. (CN) - Shea Homes trespassed and encroached on a state park in building the 481-acre Trilogy Vineyards development, the State of California claims in Contra Costa County Court. Shea and its affiliates and business partners injured archaeological sites and wildlife, built an illegal 4-mile fence on state property, deep-disked 12 acres of parkland, ignored permit restrictions and otherwise had their way with the state-owned John Marsh-Cowell Ranch near Brentwood, the State says.
