SACRAMENTO (CN) - After suffering 16 years of domestic abuse, Teresa Williams says, she wrote a self-help book, "She Must Like it," and the doctor-businessman who published it lied to her by claiming he sold only four books, cheating her of royalties and refusing to provide accounting.
Williams claims in Federal Court that Dr. Harold Dawley Jr. and his business, Wellness Institute/Self-Help Books, continue to publish and sell an edition with only a tiny change to the cover and a 1½-page afterword plugging Dawley's Institute. She demands damages for copyright violations, unfair competition and fraud.
