She called him ‘Dad’

CONCORD, N.H. — The New Hampshire Supreme Court affirmed a defendant’s sexual assault convictions. He met the victim when she was nine and would attend church with her; she referred to him as “Dad.” He first sexually penetrated her in a parking lot when she was 15. The defendant argues that his roles as a father figure and religious leader were not official and therefore do not count as positions of authority over her, which is incorrect.
