SHARK Takes Cowboys To Court

CHICAGO (CN) - An animal rights group took its fight against the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association to Federal Court. Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) claims the cowboys falsely claimed copyright to videos that SHARK had posted on its Web site, causing YouTube to remove the film from the Web and briefly suspend SHARK's account.

SHARK claims the videos showed the defendant's cruelty to animals. And it claims the cowboy association "cannot claim copyright in any live rodeo event documented by SHARK."

SHARK demands damages for misrepresentation, interference with contract, declaratory judgment and an injunction. It is represented by Charles Lee Mudd Jr.
