Shareholder Class Action

     A class action accuses Evergreen Fixed Income Trust, Evergreen Distributor, Wachovia Corp., Dannis Ferro and Kasey Phillips of fraudulently increasing the value of their stock shares by lying about the net asset value of their fund, in Boston Federal Court.

     
     Controlling shareholders of Nine Systems stripped 80 percent of the equity from minority shareholders at below-market value, and then sold the company for a $135 million profit, through loans and reverse stock splits, a class action claims in Delaware Chancery Court.
     
     Genentech shareholders filed a class action in San Francisco Federal Court, seeking to block Roche Holding AG’s low buyout offer of $89 per share.
