Shareholder Class Action

Corus Bancshares bought condos in its own developments at inflated prices, manipulating the price of its securities, shareholders say in a class action in Chicago Federal Court.

Tarrant Apparel Group is cheating its shareholders in a proposed sale to a group that includes the company's founder and chairman of the board, according to a class action in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Traders Steve Stevanovich and Geoffrey Tirman conspired with major banks and stockbrokers to manipulate the price of SulphCo stock through short selling and other ruses, shareholders say in a $1 billion claim in Manhattan Federal Court.

Here are the defendants in the SulphCo case: Morgan Stanley & Co., The Goldman Sachs Group In, JPMorgan Clearing Corp., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Banc of America Securities, The Bank of New York Mellon Corp., Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank Securities, Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith, UBS Financial Services, Steve Stevanovich, and Geoffrey Tirman.
