Sexually Assaulted by a Security Guard

HOUSTON (CN) - A security guard forcibly raped a woman in a Houston Greyhound bus terminal after pulling her out of line and handcuffing her, the woman claims in court.

B.V. sued Greyhound Lines, Greyhound Holdings, First Group America, Top Gun Security and Private Investigations and Tyler John Duhon Jr., in Harris County Court.

Duhon pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault and has been sentenced to 10 years probation, according to his arrest records.

B.V. says she bought a ticket to Dallas on April 30 at the Greyhound terminal in downtown Houston.

As she waited in the security screening line, she says, "a female security guard, (nonparty) Kahrji Williams, opened her carry-on purse and began going through the contents of it."

The lawsuit continues: "The female guard stated to a male guard coworker, 'I found marijuana leaves inside the bag.'

"The male security guard, Tyler John Duhon Jr., at the time an employee of Top Gun Security and Investigations, was standing nearby."

B.V. claims that Duhon took control of her luggage and handcuffed her.

Duhon is a 6-foot-1-inch, 260-pound white man, according to court documents.

B.V. says in her lawsuit that Duhon "took her away from the checkpoint area, and forced her into a small room down a hallway. He told her he would have to talk to HPD and his supervisor. He left the room, allegedly to talk to his supervisor. He returned to the room. He forced her to partially disrobe. He committed sexual assault on her, and forcibly raped her. He told her could go."

Duhon then did her the small favor of taking her through security to the front of the line to board the bus, B.V. says in the complaint.

But that wasn't all: "Unknown to (B.V.), he had taken $20 out of her purse. Perhaps feeling remorseful, he came back, returned her money to her, and left a note," the complaint states.

B.V. reported the incident to police and Duhon was arrested.

He pleaded guilty to felony aggravated sexual assault and was sentenced to 10 years probation and a $500 fine, according to court records.

Under terms of his probation, Duhon, 31, must do 200 hours of community service, visit his probation officer monthly, submit to random drug and alcohol tests, stay within Harris and Fort Bend Counties unless he gets permission from a judge to travel outside the area, register as a sex offender, complete a sex offender treatment program, and he cannot use the Internet "for any reason unless specifically ordered by the court," court records state.

Top Gun Security did not respond to a request for comment.

A Greyhound spokeswoman said the company does not comment on pending litigation.

B.V. demands medical expenses and punitive damages for negligence, gross negligence and premises liability.

She is represented by Michael Perrin of Houston.
