Seven Face Terror Charges in N.C.

RALEIGH, N.C. (CN) - Seven men were criminally charged on Tuesday with conspiring to support foreign terrorism. Daniel P. Boyd aka Saifullah ("Sword of God") and six alleged accomplices face a seven-count federal indictment accusing them, among other things, of "conspiracy to murder, kidnap, maim or injure persons in a foreign country."

The name of the grand jury foreman is blacked out in the complaint against Daniel Patrick Boyd aka Saifullah, 39; Hysen Sherifi, 24; Anes Subasic, 33; Zakaria Boyd, 20; Dylan Boyd aka Mohammed, 22; Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22; and Ziyad Yaghi, 21.

Sherifi, of Kosovo, is a naturalized U.S. citizen; Subasi and Yaghi also are naturalized citizens; the others apparently were born in the United States, according to the indictment.

Zakaria and Dylan Boyd are Patrick Boyd's sons.

Daniel Boyd is accused of receiving "military style training in terrorist camps" in Pakistan and Afghanistan from 1989 to 1992, "for the purposes of engaging in violent jihad."

They are also charged with stockpiling weapons received through interstate commerce, firearms possession in pursuit of crimes of violence, knowing sale of a gun to a convicted felon, and making false statements.
